Commercial Food Processor and its Types

A commercial food processor is a very profitable investment that you could make to a culinary business. Instead of having numerous employees spending hours in chopping vegetables, kneading dough and other such tasks, you could buy a commercial food processor and get the work done in only a small fraction of the original time using only one employee to operate the appliance. In general, they all require you to put the food in the bowl, place the lid and press a button to run the machine. Types of Commercial Food Processors:

I mentioned earlier that there are many different types of commercial food processors present. If you decide upon purchasing one, you will have to give some thought to what your commercial kitchen really needs and which type would it benefit the most from.

Batch Bowl:

The batch bowl food processors process food inside the bowl included in it. The shaft that runs through its center holds the chopping blade or disc depending on how you want the food to be processed. The size of the bowl is usually around 4 to 6 quarts or even larger depending on the amount of food that is usually processed in the kitchen.

Continuous Feed:

Apart from the batch bowl food processor, there are continuous feed food processors which process the ingredients and pass them out in a separate bowl. Using these types, you will never find yourself be held back by the capacity and will be able to process large batches quickly. Some food processors have a work bowl and a continuous feed chute so that you have the liberty of choosing whether to process in the same bowl or in a different bowl.

Buffalo Choppers:

Besides the two basic types discussed above, there are Buffalo choppers too which are generally heavier and stronger than the regular food processors and built entirely out of durable metal. They are powerful enough to be used for chopping anything from vegetables to meat.

These food processors come with a diverse range of attachments to add even more versatility to their use. Apart from the usual S blade that chops and discs for slicing and shredding, commercial food processors also include large hoppers to process the vegetable without cutting them by hand first, pushers so that you can include the ingredient while keeping your hands at a safe distance from the cutters. There are also many types of discs available to serve a wide range of functions besides slicing and shredding. There are discs available for cutting French fries, dicing, whipping, waffle-like cutting and even more.
